This piece is necessary to cool down the TiVo when temperatures arise inside. if the TiVo suddenly shuts down, it may be because it is too hot inside. Learning how to cool your TiVo down is very important if you want it to work again.

Шаг 1

Power down the TiVo Premiere XL4 by detaching the power cable from the unit and power source.
Allow the box to cool for at least 5 minutes before proceeding to the next step.

Remove the four 80 mm T10 screws from the back of the TiVo box using theTorx screwdriver.

After removing these 4 screws, the cover still does not come off easily. It appears to be bound on the sides by some other means.

There are metal latches on the sides that have to be carefully released by a spudser or a flathead screwdriver to enable the top to be removed.

Take the outer casing by sliding the top of the box off of the component carefully, making sure not to damage the surrounding components inside.

Use the Torx screwdriver to remove the four 100mm T15 screws.

Шаг 5

Follow the combined black and red cables to the connector that is connected to the motherboard.
Pinch the connector and gently remove from the motherboard.
