Identifying Characteristics
Flowers: Five white petals. Foliage: Trifoliate with serrate edges Stem: Creeping along the ground Fruit: Drupe very similar to a blackberry, to which it is closely related. It starts out green, then turns red, and ripens to a dark purple or black. It is edible raw or cooked into a jam. Similar Plants: Fragaria vesca General information: The individual species within this section of the genus Rubus are difficult to distinguish.
