Identifying Characteristics
Flowers:Five white petals.
Foliage:Trifoliate with serrate edges
Stem:Creeping along the ground
Fruit:Drupe very similar to a blackberry, to which it is closely related. It starts out green, then turns red, and ripens to a dark purple or black. It is edible raw or cooked into a jam.
Similar Plants:Fragaria vesca
General information:The individual species within this section of the genus Rubus are difficult to distinguish.
